ABOUT US?

We are manufacturers of climbing hangboards and devices in natural wood.
Canigó was created as a result of the combination of the climbing practice and the need for progressive training that it requires, and a professional staff with more than 20 years in the wood sector.
Nothing could possibly go wrong after you combine a passion for climbing and natural and sustainable products with great professionals who love and understand wood! Our passion is to be able to deliver training products that allow you to remain in permanent contact with nature, whilst being aware of the fact that we are generating the least possible environmental impact in our manufacture and packaging.

WHY WOOD?

It is a natural, renewable, and recyclable product. It is the only building material whose use helps reduce CO2 from the atmosphere since trees, all through its life, absorb large amounts of CO2 through photosynthesis.
For the production of wood the CO2 emissions generated are much lower than the amount of CO2 the tree has been capturing throughout its life: this results in a negative rate of emissions.

In addition, wood is less abrasive as a training material, which allows us to train for longer. Its soft touch and its limited adherence forces the climber to apply greater pressure on the sloper holds, forcing the greater development of the contact force.

OPTIMIZING RESOURCES

We make our products by optimizing the wood as much as possible, thus generating the least possible waste and contributing to a lower environmental impact.
Solid wood is a living material with its perfect pieces, its cracks, its knots, its humidity… That makes it unique, but it also has its pros and cons when working and transforming it.
In solid wood products we use the “FINGER JOINT” system for the longitudinal joining of the pieces, since it is the most stable method that offers a load capacity equivalent to the pieces without any type of joint.
With this method we avoid possible damage to the wood, such as cracks and deformations over time, and we ensure minimum wood waste as well.
